Privacy notice

Updated 4 October 2026

Summary

The short version

  • This website collects little: whatever you send us if you email us, basic technical data needed to deliver the site securely, and analytics if you accept them.
  • We use your email only to reply to you, including telling you about our work if you ask us to.
  • We don’t sell or share your information for advertising.
  • We use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used, and only if you accept them. We also count visits without cookies.
  • You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
  • We don’t offer any product yet. We’ll publish an updated notice before we do.
§ 1

Who we are and what this covers

Treepai (“we”, “us”) runs treepai.com. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the “controller” of the personal information described here, which means we decide how and why it is used.

This notice covers our website. It does not cover any future product.

Contact: privacy@treepai.com. Company registration is in progress; we’ll add our registered name and address here once it’s complete.

§ 2

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Emails to us: your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data: when you visit, the service providers that host this site process your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
  • Analytics data, only if you accept analytics cookies: the pages you view, the site that referred you, your approximate location (country or region), and your device and browser type. See § 4.

We don’t collect information about you from other sources, and we don’t collect any sensitive information.

§ 3

How we use it, and our legal basis

Data protection law in the EU and UK requires a legal reason, or “basis”, for each use of personal information. Ours are:

What we doInformationLegal basis
Reply to your messages, including telling you about our work if you askYour email and messageOur legitimate interest in answering people who contact us
Deliver the site and keep it secureTechnical dataOur legitimate interest in running a safe, working website
Understand how the site is used, so we can improve itAnalytics dataYour consent, which you can withdraw at any time
Count visits without cookiesTechnical dataOur legitimate interest in knowing how much the site is used
Meet legal obligations or defend legal claimsAny of the above, only if neededLegal obligation, or legitimate interest

We will not:

  • sell your information or share it for advertising,
  • send you unrelated newsletters or promotions,
  • use your information to train AI models,
  • make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
§ 4

Cookies and analytics

We use an analytics service to understand how this site is used: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are (country or region), what kind of device and browser they use, and which site referred them. It works by setting cookies in your browser, and it only does so if you choose “Accept” on the cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and this service collects nothing.

CookiePurposeLasts
_gaTells one visitor’s browser apart from another’sUp to 2 years
_ga_…Keeps a visit together across pagesUp to 2 years

Your choice is remembered in your browser (not in a cookie) so we don’t ask on every page. You can change it at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page; declining removes the analytics cookies.

Separately, our hosting provider counts visits without cookies: it records the page viewed, the referring site, the country, the device and browser type, and how fast the page loaded. It doesn’t identify you or follow you from page to page or site to site. Because it sets nothing in your browser, it runs for every visitor, whatever you choose on the cookie banner.

We don’t use advertising cookies or advertising pixels. Our fonts are stored on our own site, so loading a page doesn’t send your information to a font service.

§ 5

Who we share it with

  • Service providers that host this site, handle our email and provide our analytics. They act only on our instructions and only to provide those services. We don’t name our providers publicly, but we will tell you if the law requires it, for example when you ask us for a copy of your information.
  • Authorities or other parties, only when the law requires it, or when needed to protect our rights, our users or the public.
  • A successor company, if Treepai is ever merged, acquired or reorganised. Your information would stay covered by the promises in this notice.
§ 6

International transfers

Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries outside the EU and UK. When they do, we rely on recognised safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect it. You can ask us for more detail.

§ 7

How long we keep it

  • Emails to us: as long as needed to deal with your message and keep reasonable business records.
  • Technical data: kept briefly by our hosting providers for security, then deleted.
  • Analytics data: kept by our analytics provider for up to 14 months.
§ 8

How we protect it

The site is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to our accounts and data is limited and protected with multi-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your information, we’ll tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.

§ 9

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy,
  • correct it,
  • delete it,
  • stop using it, or withdraw any consent you’ve given.

Email privacy@treepai.com. We may need to confirm the request comes from you, and we’ll reply within 30 days. Using your rights is free, and we won’t treat you differently for using them.

§ 10

Extra information by region

EU, EEA and UK. You also have the right to restrict how we use your information, to object to uses based on our legitimate interests, and to receive your information in a portable format. You can complain to your local data protection authority, or in the UK to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We’d appreciate the chance to fix things first.

California and other US states with privacy laws. In the past 12 months, this site has collected identifiers (email address, IP address) and internet activity (pages requested), from you directly and from your use of the site, for the purposes in § 3. We share them only with the service providers described in § 5. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those laws define it, and we don’t collect sensitive personal information. You can have an authorised agent make a request for you.

§ 11

Children

This site isn’t meant for anyone under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us their information, email us and we’ll delete it.

§ 12

Changes to this notice

We’ll update this notice as Treepai grows, and in particular before we offer a product. Each version shows its effective date. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we’ll make that clear here before it takes effect.
